LingoBuzz — Account Deletion, Account Update & Privacy Policy

This page explains how users can delete or update their account and provides our privacy policy and data handling details.
🗑️ Delete Account — How to delete your account (inside the app)
To delete your account and all associated data:
- Open the LingoBuzz app.
- Go to Settings → Scroll to bottom.
- Tap Delete Account.
- Follow the on-screen confirmation steps.
After you confirm, your account and associated data (profile, progress, saved vocabulary, streaks, notification preferences, etc.) will be scheduled for permanent deletion. We will process the deletion immediately, and any temporary backups will be removed within 30 days unless legal requirements require otherwise.
✏️ Update / Edit Account — How to edit your data
You can update or correct account details inside the app:
- Open the LingoBuzz app.
- Go to Settings → Edit Profile.
- Change your display name, or other editable fields.
- Save changes.
If you need help updating data you cannot change in the app (for example, removing linked third-party accounts), contact support (see Contact & Requests below).
📧 Request manual deletion or updates
If you cannot delete or update your account from inside the app, request it manually:
Email: support@lingobuzz.app
(Replace with your real support email.)
Please include:
- The email associated with your account
- Your user ID (if known)
- Whether you request full deletion, partial deletion, or data update, and which items to delete/update
We will confirm receipt and complete the request within 7 days.

1) What data we collect
Depending on features used, LingoBuzz may collect the following categories of data:
Essential / Account data
- Email, username, account ID (if you create an account)
Usage & App activity
- App usage events, quiz results, progress, streaks
Device & diagnostics
- Device model, OS version, crash logs, basic diagnostics
Notifications
- Push notification token (for delivering notifications)
No sensitive personal data (like financial or health data) is collected by default.
2) How we use data
- Provide app features (widgets, notifications, progress tracking)
- Personalize vocabulary and quizzes
- Improve app performance and fix bugs
- Send push notifications and daily vocabulary (if enabled)
3) Sharing & third-party services
We may share or process data with trusted third parties to provide functionality (for example):
- Firebase — Authentication, Analytics, Crashlytics, Cloud Messaging
- Google Play Services — Notifications, in-app features
- Analytics providers — aggregated usage metrics
We do not sell user data to third parties.
4) Data storage & retention
- Account & profile data: retained until account deletion or user request.
- Backups / temporary logs: removed within 30 days after deletion.
- Aggregate anonymous analytics: retained for improvement and analytics until we decide to remove them.
5) Security & encryption
- All data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS.
- We follow industry-standard practices to protect data at rest.
- Access to production data is restricted to authorized personnel only.
6) Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we have about you
- Request correction or deletion of your data
- Export your data (data portability)
- Object to or restrict processing

8) Cookies & local storage
LingoBuzz uses local storage on your device to store settings and progress. It may also use analytics cookies or equivalent identifiers used by third-party services for analytics and crash reporting.
9) International transfers
User data may be stored or processed in countries other than your own (for example, where our service providers operate). When necessary, we apply appropriate safeguards required by law.
